Blizzard Patch 2.0.2 Notes - Key Changes & Features

Explore Blizzard's exciting patch 2.0.2 for Vessel of Hatred, featuring major changes like increased costs and new scrolls for enhanced gameplay!

Blizzard has just unveiled the patch notes for version 2.0.2, following the launch livestream for the Vessel of Hatred!

Please note that NVIDIA DLSS frame generation and ray-traced foliage features are currently disabled as the team works on a fix for these issues, which will be addressed in a future update.

Key changes in this patch include:

  • The cost to open the Greater Chest of Equipment has increased significantly from 60 to 200.

  • New Scrolls of Restoration have been introduced into the loot system.

  • The Chest of Materials has undergone modifications, now consuming all remaining Aether.

  • The Chest of Equipment has been completely removed from the game.

  • Players can now expect guaranteed legendary items with Infernal Hordes affixes from the Council Boss.

  • The Greater Chest will now always yield an ancestral legendary item.

  • Both the Chest of Materials and the Chest of Gold will consume all remaining Aether, providing rewards of gold or crafting materials, including those for masterworking, based on how much Aether is expended.

  • The Item Chest has also been eliminated.

  • Infernal Compasses can no longer be crafted but are now rare drops exclusive to torment difficulties.

  • The number of waves when using Infernal Compasses will be randomly determined, and all Infernal Horde runs will have a cap of 4 revives.

  • The difficulty level for Infernal Hordes will correlate with the chosen torment level (I, II, III, or IV).

  • Revive counts are limited to 4 across all torment difficulties.

  • A new key-binding option has been introduced, allowing players to switch between running and walking.

  • Character nameplates, including those seen in menus and friends lists, will now accurately display Paragon levels.

  • Players can now swap gems and runes without needing to visit the jeweler.

  • Crafting a blacksmith cache now necessitates 5 Forgotten Souls.

  • Adjustments have been made to the crafting of Mythic Unique items. The crafting process now works as follows:

  • Previously, crafting a specific Mythic Unique required 4 Resplendent Sparks.

  • Now, players can craft a random Mythic Unique with just 2 Resplendent Sparks, while a specific item can be crafted using Resplendent Sparks along with a unique set of runes for that item.

  • The crafting location has changed from the Alchemist to the Blacksmith.

  • Runes are now guaranteed drops from several sources, including:

  • Boss encounters within the Vessel of Hatred campaign.

  • Whisper caches.

  • World bosses.

  • First-time rewards for completing a stronghold (for magic runes only).

  • Lastly, impairment reduction will no longer be featured on items.- An issue causing larger numbers to appear illegible in vendor and crafting menus has been resolved.

  • The display for exquisite blood's usage during the summoning of Lord Zir has been corrected for clarity.

  • The stealth effect from the Shroud of False Death is now correctly disrupted when mercenaries or minions inflict damage.

  • Previously, the stealth effect could inadvertently block the spawning of summoned bosses; this issue has been fixed.

  • Summoning monsters at the start of a legion event will no longer be affected by the player's mount interaction due to the spur ability.

  • Progression issues in the "Eyes of the Enemy" quest related to Locran's Talisman placement have been addressed.

  • The guaranteed critical strike and overpower benefits from the Qax and Xan runes will no longer be triggered by non-damaging skills.

  • Class-specific tempering affixes and legendary aspects will now be restricted to their respective classes, preventing unintended function when using skills from other classes through runewords.

  • Improvements have been made to performance, user interface, visuals, and overall stability.
